Our Animal Friends at Safari North
Safari North is such a fun place to visit! With their exhibits that include animals from around the world we can learn so much about the animal kingdom! Read on to learn more about two of our favorites.
Bald Eagle Nursed Back To Health
Our Bald Eagle, Liberty, is one of the newest members of the zoo! He is about 5 years old. He has a permanent injury making it impossible to live in the wild, but he has found a home here at Safari North!
The Bald Eagle is both the national bird and national animal of the U.S. and are primarily found in North America. Although they were once an endangered species, the Bald Eagle population has recovered and was removed from the endangered list in 2007. It's so exciting to be able to see a live bald eagle up close and personal at Safari North!
Majestic Beauty of a White Bengal Tiger
Another of our famous animal friends is our white bengal tiger. He is so majestic and beautiful, and is a popular attraction at Safari North! White tigers' unusual appearance (compared to typical orange and black tigers) is caused by a recessive pigmentation in their skin. They are generally larger and grow more quickly that the orange Bengal tiger, starting at birth. These unusual tigers are so amazing, and it's wonderful to be able to see them up close!
